Sacred Heart of Jesus Diocesan Shrine in Buffalo has an outdoor consecrated altar and grotto that is over 100 years old! We have one of a very few Catholic outdoor consecrated altars in the Diocese approved for your ceremony. Built with a focus on Roman and Spanish style architectural influences, you will feel like you have traveled to Europe!
The outer walls of our Shrine form the shape of a “heart” symbolizing the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the altar is consecrated to His Sacred Heart. Nearby, a grotto dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes with a beautiful fountain. Elm and Maple trees create a natural canopy over our benches to keep you cool and seating for approximately 400 people.
